I jumped at the opportunity to read fellow Pittsburgh native’s memoir, “Worth the Climb,” and participate in its resultant Starry Knight Word Slayers Blog Tour. The story tells of overcoming sexism and racism and finding strength of character within. The story chronicles the author’s struggles to be taken seriously in an inhospitable business climate. She is candid about her triumphs and set back, and her insights inspire.
Audrey Snyder’s work affords an honest look into her upbringing and heritage. She points to strong ancestors as inspiration, and her fonts of personal fortitude bring the reader through difficulties and injustices. Audrey is patient when she wanted to rail against injustice. She is strong in the face of adversity. In all, “Worth the Climb” is worth the read.
